In a world where television shows for children have been saturated with violence, superheroes, game shows and the like, CBN India introduces a breath of innocence. A show with a strong moral fibre and that will stand children in good stead for all the days of their lives. Khushi Ki Duniya was launched on 4 th of February, 2005 as a pre- evangelistic television program for children between the ages of 4 to 14, Khushi Ki Duniya is a comprehensive program that entertains, teaches, involves, educates and absorbs children. It also gives them a platform to express their opinion, exhibit their talents and through it all, learn Christian values; values that acts as a lamp unto their feet and a light unto their path.
The show is hosted by Shreya Shukla 'Didi' and J.J. 'Khush', the muppet dog. Every week on the show they dwell on a value which is called a “Goody” and talk about its benefits in life. The program has the following segments:
Seekh Time is story time! Didi has a great way of explaining how to learn from these special stories! Look out for something good you can learn in each episode.
Dr.Khoj: Meet Dr.Khoj a walking encyclopedia and ‘Amazing Fact’ – factory! He is a very special character who visits different places and picks up facts from each place for us to learn!
Knowledge Zone: Imagine traveling around to different places and learning how things are made and getting to know how they work too! Wow! Isn’t that cool? The Knowledge Zone segment is just like the magic carpet - taking you places and helping you learn new things! It tells you all you wanted to know about different things.
Meet J.J: It is time to meet J.J our friendly and new ‘Kala Time’ host. Kala Time is now time to meet J.J. You can look forward to having fun with J.J along with your pencils, scissors, gum and colours in your favorite arts and craft segment.
Jam Club: This segment doesn’t need any introduction at all! Oh-ho! I think I’ll just say it for the record… The JAM Club segment is time for ‘Jesus And Me Club’ members to display their talents through the drawings, poems and craft items they send and also a time when Didi and Khush read out their letters in the programme. And you will see their drawings put up on the notice board too… Well done JAM Club members!!! We are proud to have such a talented group of buddies and friends just like you!!!
Zara Sambhalke means ‘just be careful!’ in Hindi. As you would have guessed, this segment is about ‘safety tips’. The Zara Sambhalke segment will teach you about the things to look out for when you try something yourself. Friends, this is our way of showing you how much we care for you… we want to save you from getting into serious trouble so look out for this segment to learn what precautions to take!
The show is very popular among viewers and owing contribution to children. It boasts of a high level of technical quality and is rated as the best indigenous TV shows on Indian Television. The show is currently on air on Sony TV every Saturday evening between 6:00PM and 6:30PM and on SAB TV every Sunday morning between 8:30AM and 9:00PM .
