You have got God's attention
Quite often when someone promises to be with us when we need them, they try to keep it up
Quite often when someone promises to be with us when we need them, they try to keep the promise - unless they have been lying. But no matter how hard someone tries, there will be moments when they cannot be with us at our hour of need, simply because they are not at a place where they can see our need and come to our aid.
That is why even with loads of friends and loving family members we battle some problems all by ourselves. We know we can go to them, but there will also be moments of fear because they might not truly understand what we are going through and in the process hurt us more. But God is not like any other person. He has full view of your life. He will keep the promises He made to you. He is not a liar.
Consider this part of Jacob’s life “Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Haran. When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep. He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. There above it stood the LORD, and he said: "I am the LORD, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you." (Gen 28 : 10-15)
If we read what happens later, we understand that this promise has been fulfilled in Jacob’s life and even now is being fulfilled. God’s assurance to Jacob is valid to anyone to whom God makes a promise. God had His eye on Jacob wherever Jacob went. And in this assurance Jacob could look forward to a brighter future.
