NIREEKSHANA - A Weekly Show in Telugu
CBN launched Nireekshana in 2000, aiming to bring hope to the people of Andhra Pradesh. The show is extremely popular among all classes of people as they identify with people’s testimonies and find the strength and courage to solve their problems through faith in Jesus Christ.
This 30 minute magazine format show handles a contemporary issue in each of its episodes. The testimony segment showcases the lives of simple Indians facing problems often larger than themselves but overcoming them with the hope and strength they find in Jesus Christ. The helping hand of CBN, Operation Blessing India is also showcased in the program where it exhibits God's love by extending help in many ways to the people of India and its neighboring countries. The man on the street is also given an opportunity to express his viewpoint on the issue of the day. This segment tries to cover people from all walks of life and across all age groups. Finally, a prayer and altar call is also part of the program, followed our very own gospel music videos of popular Christian artists.
Nireekshana imparts the message of hope, shows the reality of Jesus working and changing the lives of people across different faiths, backgrounds and places in India. Several lives have been transformed, prayers answered and miracles experienced through Nireekshana.
Nireekshana airs every Sunday evening at 5.30pm on TV 9, a popular news channel. There is a tremendous response to the show and it is highly appreciated by its viewers. And also airs every Sunday morning from 10- 10.30 am on TV 1 from March 1st ’09.
Host and Hostess - NIREEKSHANA
Edward Williams
Edward William Kuntam has been the host of Nireekshana since 2000. Over the years, he has effectively reached out to millions of viewers with the gospel of Jesus Christ. His passion for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ has made him a well known and respected speaker all over the country.
He ministered as a student counselor (Staff) with Union of Evangelical Students of India (UESI). During that period, he was also the State Secretary of Andhra Pradesh for six years. He did his MA (Theology) and MA (Advanced in Homiletics) from SAIACS, Bangalore. He also holds an M.A Degree in Christian Studies from Madras University. He now helps CBN International in reaching diaspora India through their website Tipritv.com. He is also an evangelist at large.
His wife Christy holds an M.A Degree in theology from SAIACS and an M.A Certificate in Christian Studies from Madras University. She now works with Smart Patotos, a firm that provides greater way to kids.
Their older daughter Sharon is in 9th standard and the younger one Shiny is in 4th standard.
Thejo Jeevani
Born and brought up in a missionary family, Thejo grew up learning about Christ’s ultimate sacrifice for her on the Cross. While doing her high school, she attended a Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) camp for 3 days where she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and committed her life to full time ministry. Thejo sees her roll as co host of Nireekshana as a step in the right direction towards a life committed to share the Good News of Jesus.
She has finished her Masters in Food Service Management and Dietetics from Avinashilingam University for Women, Coimbatore and worked as a dietician at Kolors, slimming and beauty clinic at Vizag. She presently resides with her parents at Vizag.
