About Operation Blessing Health Care Activities
Basic health care is a distant dream for most Indians in rural areas. Even as multi-specialty hospitals dot the Metropolitan cities of India, people in remote villages do not have any access to medical facilities and facilities like roads and potable drinking water. Many have no other option but to take a sick person to herbal medicine practitioners or witch doctors. Without medical facilities health conditions have worsened and in many cases it has even resulted in death. Operation Blessing medical teams travel far and wide in India to provide the much needed health care. The teams are fully equipped with an ECG machine, portable x-ray equipment, laboratory testing kit and a dental unit. With these high tech equipments OB has been able to carry out tests, diagnose the problem correctly and provide the best medicines for those who are unfortunate or will never have the opportunity to be treated for their ailments. Eye tests are also done through such camps and those who are in need of spectacles are provided one free of cost. During the camp de-worming medicines are given to every child. The team makes an effort to see that everyone in need is medically examined and provided treatment.
Until DEC 2009 Operation Blessing India treated 5, 90,444 people in 1911 camps, in the year 2009 providing for General, Eye and Dental treatment. 14691 Eye glasses were given to the needy people.
