What is this… Webproject?
The “WebProject” is a temporary name for CBN India’s new site. At it’s core, it is a unique on-line discipleship tool to raise awareness of the glory of God’s nature. We at CBN India work to see the name of God glorified through acts of God’s love as well as using multi-media programming to communicate His word. This website seeks to use the latest technology share God’s word with the world, and to communicate what He’s doing in India.
How does it work?
It helps people to grow closer to God, and glorifies Him by connecting the right article with the person who needs it. It is based on a very simple principle: two-way communciation; and it works like this:
- A person connects to the website. It is like they have come to our house. Maybe they found our site while searching for something on line, or maybe they saw one of our TV programs and wanted to know more about God. Regardless of how they got there though, they came to our door.
- Then, we ask. “What can we do for you?” Using well organized menus, featured articles, and well laid-out pages, we are, in a sense, asking the user how we can help them. Rather than just giving them what we think they need, we are instead listening first. All websites do this do some extent, but we are seeking to build our site around this principle in order that we may minister to the individual.
- We Speak. After the user clicks on a category, story, article, video, photo-journal or something else, it’s our turn to give them what they were interested in. We want to ensure that the content that we provide will be born of the holy Spirit of God so that it actually ministers to the user. But, we still try and keep this interaction between user and authors a two-way interaction.
- We Listen and Suggest. We listen by paying attention to what a person clicked on. If they are reading an article about healing, we pay attention to that, and will provide more information that relates to that. On the side of the page, we will suggest other stories of healing, and more teachings about healing. And, even within the article, there will be words that a user can click on in order to get material on other subjects. This is what differs us from other sites. We use searching technology and meta data to effectively listen and suggest material. This helps us to minister to the individual. A user shouldn’t have to come to a site, read an article, then go back to the home, or main menu, and then decide where to go next. With this format, they should be led deeper into whatever subject they are interested in, and as they read, they should even find other subjects that interest them that they didn’t even know they were interested in!
- The Conversation Continues. And, as a normal conversation would progress, from topic to topic, sometimes changing subjects, and sometimes not, we hope that a person’s experience on our website will progress the same way.
“To give a good answer is a joy to man, and how pleasing is a word given at the right time!” Proverbs_15:23-NLBWe do not think that a website should ever replace personal fellowship. But, we want to build this tool that connects people with the words of other people that are: born in the Spirit, filled with wisdom, and are timely for the person. These words can be in the form of videos or in written form but we want to do whatever we can to make sure that they find their mark.
